What are signs of tornadoes?
Some signs of tornadoes could be, there is a thunder storm already occuring.
Or there is that one cloud that is drooping lower then all the others.
Another sign of a tornado could be a slow rotation in the base of the cloud.
A loud continuous thunder type noise will be presented.
Or the sky might have a shade of greenish black.
Also there is an occurance of debris falling from the sky.
The biggest sign of a tornado is a funnel has already touched ground. Look for a big change in winds. And sometimes there is so much precipitation that the tornado is unseen.
Lighting occupanies tornadoes also.

Where are safe places during a tornado?
The safest place to be during a tornado is preferably a storm cellar.
But, if you don't have one, then here are a couple of other safe places to be.
If you are driving somewhere and you see a tornado, find a deep ditch. If you find
one you can lay down, and if the tornado passes it will go right above you.
Another safe place is, a bath tub, because the pipes in a bathtub are connected to the ground and they stay in place.
You can also go in a room or closet with no windows or just go in down to the basement if have one.
The one place that you should absolutely not go to is an underpass because the wind only gets stronger.

How do tornadoes form?
Tornadoes form when two different air masses combine together. Tornadoes mainly happen when there is a thunder storm already happening. A rotating upward movement is a main feature to starting a tornado.
Large winds, and hailing is apart of them also. A low cloud is the base where you can start to identify the rotation.
There is a wide range of width, heighth, and speed. The average width is 50 yards wide. The average heighth is approximately 8-16 miles. Now, the average speed is about 65 miles per hour or faster. Tornadoes are natural disasters tat happen everywhere.
But, in those minutes they do a large amount of damage.
